The Wrong Hole

Tom Crisp preparing to dive The Wrong Hole for the first time.

The Wrong Hole got its name after the team hiked equipment 20km in search of a rumoured crystal clear pool with a large cave opening. Instead the team found this resurgence with a torrent of uninviting tannic water pouring from a small entrance. After diving the wrong hole and surfacing in a terminal room Tom was informed that the original cave they were looking for was located, so focus was then shifted there.

After meadows cave (the right hole) backed up with gravel. The team decided to take a second look at The Wrong hole only to discover a small dry cave just behind it ending in a decent sized sump. One more dive was made in The Wrong hole, this time with passage continuing into the darkness. The gravel in Meadows cave was moved enough to continue exploration so focus once again shifted back there. The Wrong hole will certainly be revisited! Not far from The Wrong hole is another resurgence cave in need of a dive.

Visibility in The Wrong Hole is always tannic but decent sized passage indicates a bigger system
