Pearce Resurgence

The Pearce Resurgence is probably New Zealand's most well known cave dive due to the staggering success of The Wet Mules.
A large resurgence at the base of Mt Arthur feeds the Pearce river. Upon entering the resurgence a short shallow section is navigated before reaching a shaft that plummets into oblivion. The Wet Mules have explored the Pearce to a depth of 228m utilising twin rebreathers, habitats and other ground breaking equipment to complete dives in excess of 17 hours. See www.wetmules.com for more detail.
Dye tracing has confirmed that the water comes from a nearby cave called the Nettlebed where several dives were made in 2016 to find the main siphon that feeds the Pearce. More dives need to be done in the Nettlebed as many leads were observed.
